Welcome to the Statistical Society of Kenya. This society is an inclusive society for all persons passionate about data. This includes, but not limited to students and professionals in the fields of Statistics, Pure and Applied Mathematics, Economics and Econometrics, Biometrics, and Engineering.
While considering that Data Science is becoming high in-demand profession, knowledge, and skills in data-driven courses not only gives you an upper hand but being in a society that drives policy and application on data ethics and integrity based on the theory behind methods ensures that industry practices are respected and so are you.
While, the Society is geared towards promoting the understanding, teaching, research, application, and good practice of statistics, statistical theory, and methods in all areas, it is also geared towards influencing policy matters on data through innovation, research, and data dialogues. This will be achieved only if our members become active in contributing to various avenues of an increasing body of knowledge by researching and publishing peer-reviewed papers, discussing industry practices and events that not only inform but influence policymaking and direction.
Inclusive to academic and career development, the society provides a platform for coaching and mentorship to young and upcoming statisticians while also providing an opportunity to network with mature experienced professionals.
I, therefore, call upon data-driven students and professionals to register and subscribe as members and contribute to the noble course of making the society a vibrant body that will contribute to the economic growth through research and value addition.
